When you visit Ebeltoft during the summer, you’ll have plenty of time to explore the town’s many charming shops, specialty stores, and working workshops.

Summer Hours, June 29–August 30:

  • Weekdays: 10:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m.
  • Saturdays: 10:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
  • Open on Sundays (Weeks 28, 29, and 30): 11:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.

The above are the minimum opening hours. Many stores choose to stay open longer during the summer, so there’s even more time for shopping and summer fun in Ebeltoft’s charming streets.


Jazz on the Square – Culture Amid Hollyhocks and Half-Timbered Buildings

There’s almost nothing that evokes summer in Ebeltoft more than the sound of jazz in Torvet. Surrounded by half-timbered buildings, cobblestone streets, and cozy cafés, both locals and visitors can enjoy atmospheric open-air concerts.

For more than 20 years, Jazz på Torvet has been a long-standing tradition and one of the major cultural highlights of the summer in Ebeltoft. Every Saturday, audiences gather in front of the Old Town Hall, where some of the country’s best jazz bands create a truly special atmosphere with everything from classic New Orleans jazz and swing to boogie, blues, and Danish evergreens.

From June 29 to August 23, the Frigate Jylland offers exciting experiences for the whole family. Step aboard the world’s longest wooden warship and step right into history, where stories, activities, and maritime adventures bring the past to life for both children and adults.

Ready to fire! Join Denmark’s last naval battle

Experience the drama of the Battle of Heligoland as the cannons are readied for battle. On the weather deck, the whole family can feel the breath of history as the crew demonstrates how the frigate’s cannons were prepared for firing.

The Ship That Wouldn’t Sink

Meet the guide on the Jylland and hear the fascinating story of the ship’s history, the Battle of Heligoland in 1864, and the sailors’ harsh life on board. The introduction takes place at the frigate square and offers a vivid insight into Denmark’s maritime history.
